Elgin Empty Bowl Project was a success!

This year’s Elgin Empty Bowl Project—our second—set the bar high for the future: perfect weather for enjoying some delicious soups, great community turnout and involvement, an impressive artistic selection of bowls decorated by Elgin High School students and community members, a wonderful roster of sponsors and, at center stage…

  • A gold medal selection of soups, stews and chili’s from Elgin’s best restaurants and caterers,
  • A truly outstanding collection of works of art donated by local artists for auction
  • A small-but-stalwart army of volunteers, AND
  • Dozens and dozens of delicious cookies and cupcakes for the sweet tooth.

We simply could not offer this event—and certainly not an event of this caliber—without your commitment, generosity and talent.  And without this event’s success, we would be very hard pressed to sustain the level of services and the lifeline that the Food Pantry provides to the increasing number of Bastrop County residents struggling in poverty.

From the bottom of our hearts, the Board of the Bastrop Emergency Food Pantry and Support Center, appreciates your support of our mission and the significant role you played in making this year’s event so successful.
