For 21 years, our community has come together, one bowl of kindness at a time, to fight hunger in Bastrop County. And this January, we’re doing it again.
The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry is excited to host the 21st Annual Bastrop Empty Bowl, a football-themed, soup-filled community celebration honoring the impact YOU make possible. This beloved event is one of our favorite traditions, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for an afternoon of delicious food, local art, and neighborly generosity.

What to Expect
Come wearing your favorite team jersey and get ready for a full-on battle of the ladles. Some of Bastrop’s best chefs will be serving up their most flavorful soups, stews, and chilies. A panel of chef judges will crown the top dishes in each category…but YOU get to decide who earns the title of Fan Favorite.
While you taste your way through the lineup, you can also browse our silent auction, featuring:
- Artwork from talented local creators
- Themed baskets from generous businesses
- Unique raffle items and experiences

Why Your Support Matters
Hunger is closer than many realize. One in seven Bastrop residents faces food insecurity. In 2025, we served over 5,000 neighbors and distributed more than 400,000 pounds of food!
Events like Empty Bowl keep our programs running strong. When you purchase a ticket, bid on an auction item, or sponsor the event, you are directly helping ensure no neighbor goes without the food they need.
