Many people who are eligible for food stamps neither realize it nor apply. In
Bastrop County you may go to the Department of Human Services on Loop
150/Hwy 21 and apply.  Drop by and fill out an application to schedule an
interview with a representative.  You may also visit

Proof of Identity, residency and financial need are necessary to determine eligibility for
food stamps. You do not need everything on this list, only the items that pertain to you.
Bring them with you to your food stamp interview.

  • Divorce or separation decree
  • Immigration and naturalization papers

The Mission of the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry & Support
Center is to serve all people in Bastrop County with hunger-related
needs and support services which may include providing emergency
food, information, referral counseling and support services for families
and the elderly.
At a time when charitable giving is crucial for those in need, your
generosity is greatly appreciated and goes to help those with the very
basic need of food. In addition to the elderly struggling against rising
prices on fixed incomes are the increasing numbers of families of
